Avis Dempsey Group

This group has a set time on the third Wednesday of each month at 10:00 am to pray for each other and church concerns, and the needs of the church in the community. They do all of this in the quietness of their homes. If you have any questions, please call the church office.

Night Baptist Women

This group meets on the Monday after the third Sunday of each month at 7:00 pm at various members' homes. Each meeting consists of a devotional, requests and prayer, a program, and a time for refreshments and fellowship. Mission emphases for this group include the Sparc House, Food Bank Ministry at our church, Samaritan Purse Shoe boxes, Jail Ministry, Gateway, Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center and other community oriented helps.

Our next regular meeting will be on Monday, March 18th 7:00 pm. Our March project will be Jail Ministry. We each pack a "goodie bag" with useful items they can use and take it to the jail for distributing. At our meetings  we usually have great snacks and good fellowship together after the program. If you wuld be interested in more information, please call the office.

If you would like more information about our group, please call us at the church office. We would love to have you join us.

Contemporary Women

This group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at our church. CBW sponsors semi-annual dinners for missions at our church, as well as community projects. These community projects include targeting families in need of help at Christmas and other community helps.

Our next monthly meeting will be Wednesday, March 6th at 6:30 pm.  If you would like more information about our group, please call the church office.  We would love to have you join us.

Woman's Missionary Union (WMU)

"For we are labourers together with God." (1 Corinthians 3:9 KIV)

Women's Missionary Union is an organization dedicated to supporting missions through praying, studying, teaching, donating time and money and participting in projects that benefit many people.

There are groups available to meet the interests of all women ages 18 and older.

Avis Dempsey Day Group: this group meets on the Wednesday, following the third Sunday of each month. The members will be praying at 10:00 am on that Wednesday at their homes for right now.

Contemporary Baptist Women (CBW): this group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the church.

Night Baptist Women: this group meets on the Monday evening, following the third Sunday of each month, at 7:00 pm. The meetings are held in the member's homes.

Our church is very active in supporting our missionaries. The WMU sponsors several church wide special offerings during the year. These include the Annie Armstrong offering for home missions, the Lottie Moon offering for international missions, the Associational Missions offering for our local community and also the Alma Hunt offering for state missions.

Our three missions groups are actively involved in many local projects such as the Gateway ministry, Klothes For Kids, Coats for Kids and the Sparc House.  Other ministries include preparing hygiene kits for men and women leaving jail, Christmas for families and children in need and school supplies and backpacks for children, just to name a few. We also try to accommodate other needs in our community as they arise.

During the year, our members have numerous opportunities to attend various retreats and mission studies.
